Petroglyph Section, Lava Bed, National Monument, CA [Postcard]
POSTCARD TITLE: The Petroglyph Section, Lava Bed, National Monument, Calif.
POSTMARK: Unused, with writing on the back, dated Mar 7, 1967
PUBLISHER: Eastman's Studio
TYPE/BACK: Chrome, Divided Back
COMMENTS: Along this cliff, prehistoric Indians carved dots, lines, figures, and symbols for over 1,000 feet at the base. Some designs found about 20 feet up indicate the use of boats or walking on ice during high lake levels. The cliff was created by wave action of old Tule Lake against this ancient volcano.
The corners of the card are just slightly rounded. Nice coloring. Check the photo for more details.
